Meet Kirsi and Darin! They are a sweet, easy-going couple I had the pleasure of photographing at their Gilbert LDS Temple wedding. Their wedding day in October brought perfect Arizona weather!
We started the day on the temple grounds, which are covered in lush greens and flowers. It was a beautiful day and after their temple ceremony, we walked around the grounds and captured some portraits. October is a lovely time in Arizona and we lucked out that their wedding day had clear blue, cloudless skies! We captured all of their friends and family outside the temple first and then focused on smaller family groups. Before leaving the temple we took a few photos of just Kirsi and Darin beneath some of the beautiful architecture and alongside the well-designed planters.
Their reception in the evening took place at Kirsi’s sister’s home. Her backyard was transformed into the perfect party spot for this darling couple! There was a soda bar and lots of sweet treats for all to enjoy. A rented dance floor was set up on the lawn and was never empty, thanks to their family friend who is also a DJ.
One of the funniest parts of the night was when the DJ challenged Kirsi and Darin to run to each table and take a photo with every person sitting at that table. The kicker? They needed to get the photos during ONE song. It was a pretty short song and got everybody laughing. Kirsi and Darin ran through the yard and took photos with each table. It was such a unique version of a guest book and special that we captured them with all of their guests!
The newlyweds ended the night with a private last dance followed by a grand sparkler exit. The entire day was full of smiles and laughter and love. I loved getting to capture this sweet couple and helping them start their newlywed life in style!
