Red Rock Extended Family Photos
It was such a delight to work with the Weavers during their extended family photo session. I loved getting to know each member of the family and watching them enjoy being together.
Sessions like this are one of the best parts of my job!
This was a very outgoing, fun, happy group and that is really reflected in their pictures!
We took the Weaver’s photos at Papago Park in Phoenix Arizona. The Weaver family traveled from out of town for their photos (they’re the best!) so they were open to exploring any location, but we settled on this stunning area outside of Tempe. Papago Park is full of red rock, sagebrush, and cacti. It’s such a fantastic location because it’s varied and interesting, and has plenty of open space for group photos.
If you’re looking for some family photo inspiration, the Weavers are a great example. Don’t their outfits complement the location so nicely? The blues and tans they chose to wear are stunning against the red rock background, and the mix of outfits is coordinating without matching. I always love a combination of pants and dresses, as well as solid and patterned prints. Overall, this family pulled it off flawlessly!
This adventurous bunch traveled to be together in the great outdoors, and as you can see from their photos, they were so excited to be reunited. Their personalities meshed so well with one another as they interacted during their shoot. I loved observing the joy on the parent's faces as they watched their family just being happy to be together. It had been nearly a decade since the Weavers last took family photos, so it was a big moment for them.
The Weavers had their hearts set on taking lots of big group photos to really capture their tight-knit clan. We were able to get lots of shots of their family smiling into the camera as well as some candid moments of them laughing with each other. Of course, we also took plenty of each individual family member as well as couples and kids portraits.
I had such a good time with the Weavers and loved how their images turned out. Between the fantastic company, the beautiful weather, and the stunning location, I really couldn’t have asked for a more perfect session. It was a day to remember!
