I’m thrilled to introduce you to the Wood Family! They were wonderful to work with, and their pictures turned out to be absolutely perfect.
Aren’t they the cutest family?
We took the Woods photos at Veterans Oasis Park in Chandler. It’s one of my favorite locations, so I am always happy to make it back there for shoots. If you’ve never been before, it really does live up to its name. In the middle of dry Arizona, Veterans Oasis Park is a tiny little sliver of thriving plants and trees. It’s a stunning location, especially in the fall when all the trees turn various shades of red, yellow, and orange. We couldn’t have asked for a better setting for the Wood’s photos.
Cory and Becca Wood have three of the cutest little girls, who were just delightful during our session. They have been married for ten years! As a birthday gift, Cory actually booked this session for Becca as a surprise. Isn’t that sweet? After she opened the certificate, he let her choose the location and the outfits. The last time they had photos taken, their middle child was a baby! It all came together beautifully and made for such a tender story.
Becca shared with me some of the hesitations that she felt as their session approached. It’s so normal to feel nervous about how your photos will turn out, and if kids are involved, nervous about how they will act. She and I talked about all the things she was worried about, including posing with the significant height difference between her and her husband. We chatted about her unique family dynamic, and by the time her session arrived, she felt a sense of peace and familiarity because we had worked together beforehand.
During the Wood’s session, we had so much fun. There were lots of laughs from the whole family, including mom and dad. We were able to snag some gorgeous candid moments of the family interacting with one another so genuinely. After a little while of the kids enjoying themselves, Becca was able to relax a little and really enjoy herself.
I’m so thankful for amazing clients like the Woods, who not only trust me with their photos but with their anxieties and concerns. I loved watching the emotions of apprehension and nervousness transform into excitement to see all the beautiful memories they created together.
