Springtime Session in the Heart of Gilbert
I love to take pictures that celebrate big life changes, and Haley’s session was just that. She wanted these photos before she left for an LDS mission.

I am so happy to share with you some favorite photos from a unique session I had with Haley K. Haley is just the sweetest girl, and we had such a fun time together. I’ve photographed Haley’s family several times, and I loved doing solo photos with her!
This session represents so many of my favorite things: working with return clients, taking portraits, and Arizona in the springtime. The weather could not have been more ideal on this day. The sun was shining and it wasn’t too hot, which was dreamy for March.
Haley was called to serve an LDS mission in the McAllen, Texas Mission and wanted to take some fun photos to celebrate her decision. They also doubled as her senior photos, which I thought was so special. I’m always happy to incorporate prop ideas as much as possible, especially when they hold special meaning. Haley brought along the Texas state flag and a Book of Mormon.
We took Haley’s mission photos at the Gilbert LDS Temple. If you’ve never been to this temple, the grounds are almost more breathtaking than the building. I am always in awe of how stunning the landscaping is, but it really was exceptional during this shoot. Between the lush greenery, spring flowers, and budding trees, I couldn’t have dreamed up a more beautiful backdrop.
As I mentioned earlier, I’ve taken photos of Haley’s family a few times before, so it was fun to reconnect with her and her mom during this session. We were able to get a few images of this cute mother-daughter duo, and they ended up being some of my favorite photos from the day.
These photos are the perfect example of how valuable it is to document each phase of life. Especially when a big change happens, there is no better way to celebrate than with a photography shoot.
