Do you have a little one with a birthday coming up? A fun way to celebrate that special occasion is with a studio portrait session in Mesa, Arizona! Today I’m sharing just that – an adorable first birthday session with cute twin siblings, Mason and Claire.
We took these photos at the studio in Mesa, Arizona, and I am in love with how they turned out! It was such a joy to focus on the vibrant personalities of these two little one-year-olds. They did fantastic during the session and we were able to capture their energy and curiosity of being a toddler.
There is so much magic in taking personality portraits. Each click of the camera is a glimpse into your child's world – their laughter, their curiosity, their individuality. Mason has the most bubbly demeanor and really had a knack for making eye contact that made photos so fun! On the other hand, Claire’s whole face lit up whenever we played music or made silly sounds. We had some really sweet moments during our session!
One thing I love to do when taking portraits is to snap a few must-have shots, like sibling moments, playful giggles, and sweet gazes into the camera. Each of those moments is a treasure trove of precious moments frozen in time. As a mom, I want you to be able to look through these photos and see a story of your child’s journey through childhood, as well as a representation of everything that makes them unique.
For this session, I added a mix of color and black-and-white images to the final gallery. This client and I both loved the dimension that black and white photos brought, but don’t worry if that’s not your vibe! I am happy to work with whatever coloring you prefer, whether it’s the vibrant hues or the timeless elegance of monochrome.
Getting toddlers to cooperate for photos isn’t easy, but there were a few tricks that helped me snag some beautiful photos of Mason and Claire. While they weren’t necessarily swayed by traditional treats, their willingness to explore the studio sets made for a fun and memorable session.
