I love working with return clients in new ways and taking JJ’s baptism pictures was exactly that!
The Mesa LDS Temple was the perfect spot to capture JJ’s baptism photos.
If you’ve been around for any amount of time, it will come as no surprise that I love capturing all different kinds of moments. Whether it’s engagements and wedding day photos, family photos, or special occasion portraits, I am your girl! In this session, we took some special pictures in honor of JJ’s baptism. I hope that these can be pictures that she will look back on with love as she gets older.
For her baptism, JJ wore this beautiful white lace dress, that was actually repurposed from her mom’s wedding dress. Isn’t that incredible? JJ’s mom Brooke had a seamstress create the perfect baptism dress for her daughter. Both Brook and JJ were so excited about how it turned out! JJ is the only girl in her family, so her mom was so happy to have this special experience to share together.
We took JJ’s baptism photos at the Mesa LDS Temple. Arizona is amazing in the spring – it’s my favorite time to take pictures because the weather is perfect and there is so much lush greenery all around. And the Mesa temple grounds are no exception! There are so many different photo spots throughout the grounds, so we were able to get some shots with the temple in the background and some with the beautiful landscaping.
The lighting for JJ’s photos could not have been more perfect. We planned her session for the perfect sliver of time right before sunset, and it gave everything such a magical glow. I especially love the images where the sun hits the temple and fills the whole scene with warm light. As a natural light photographer, I always schedule my sessions at golden hour to capture my clients in the best possible light.
I loved working with JJ and her mom! I took their family photos last fall; seeing them again was so much fun. I am always happy to continue to serve my clients in new ways as their lives change. I am so excited for JJ and hope that these pictures will always be a reminder of the happiness of her special baptism day.
